Over 60 people have been trained by the Catalyst Vocational Institute (CVI), in various skills acquisition and means of vocational training, for the teenagers, youths and adults. The training, also as a means of wealth creation, self reliance and dependence, also to enhance viable economic standards.
The training include various courses skills, such as; Baking and Pastries, Soap Making and Disinfectant, Makeup and Gele tying, lasted for two weeks, and was held at the Silhouette School, Orile-Ifo, Ogun State.
According to reports gathered by News Jaunts, the training was organized by the Catalyst Vocational Institute to celebrate its 10 years anniversary of its existence towards making a new turn in our society and among the younger ones.
Speaking with the trainees, the Proprietor of the Institute, Catalyst Gbenga Adewunmi, shared with the trainees the experience of the years and of the first training in August, 2026 held at Ejigbo, Lagos State, while urging them to make use of the training to become better persons in the future.
“Many of the past students are now doing great in their various field of training, so, therefore, try to emulate this and do not let the knowledge you have gathered stops here”, He said.
Catalyst Adewunmi also added that the number of trainees this year, is the lowest turnout in the past 10 years, as they have experienced more number than this before.
“This is the lowest turnout of trainees in the past 10 years of training, as we have experienced about 252 students and many more, that the highest number is 350 students and the lowest is 148 students,
“Many had thought it won’t be possible to organise such training for free, because this is the first time the institute is bringing it to this environment so by the time they realize and were turning up for the training the registration has closed”, He added.
In her own admonition, the training Coordinator, Lady Evang. Oloruntoyin Gabriel said she is happy seeing those who knows the advantage of this training and thereby urged them to make use of the training for others in every opportunity they see.
The owner of Silhouette School, Engr. Adekunle Adebakin, in his own remark, expressed his joy that the kind of Catalyst Vocational Institute is very rear in our society, who has been training people for free for 10 good years. He showered us prayer and gave us his word that the institute is free to come and use his venue anytime.
In her own comment, an Instructor, Funmi Akinsanya, commended the students for their interest and passion towards the training, and for learning how to bake cake, do eggrolls, shawarma, doughnut, puff-puff, and other things within two weeks. She, also challenged the youths in the environment for not making use of this rear opportunity enough.
Another instructor, Raphael Irabo, who’s into soap making and disinfectant, promised to be ready to work with the institute in organizing this training in every different places, when opportunity comes for him.
However, there were appeals from people to the Catalyst Vocational Institute to keep on reorganizing the training soon and also have an established building in the environment, while Pastor Adesina urged everyone to see the training as a mantle of wealth creation, “God Almighty want to use Catalyst Vocational Institute to liberate some people from poverty and lack”.
Meanwhile, all the trainees were presented their projects and they were given their certificate of participation.
