Sosa Team Thrills Guests at Ojude Oba Festival with Special Performance

The team of the premium Sosa Fruit Drink of Rite Foods Limited, Nigeria’s leading food and beverage company, electrified guests and participants with stunning performances at this year’s Ojude Oba Festival of the Ijebu-land, as it performed before the King of Ijebu-land, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona.

The team which was adorned with the outfit of the Sosa Fruit Drink, with their uniquely designed green hat, was accompanied by an acrobatic display that caught the admiration of the people who applauded their intriguing entertainment at the Ojude Oba festival on Sunday, 8th June 2025.

This was part of the colours the proudly Nigerian company added to the over-a-century age-long festival which signals the rich cultural heritage of the Ijebu people of Ogun State, in the Southwestern region of the country.

Other reinvigorating brands of the World -class company at the festival were the 13 variants of the Bigi Carbonated Soft Drink, the Bigi Premium drinking water, the number one Fearless Energy Drink, as well as Rite Spicy Beef and Bigi Beef Sausage Rolls that are produced with the state-of-the-art infrastructure and modern technology.

Themed ‘Celebrating Our Roots, Preserving Our Future’, the festival attracts over1,000,000 people from different parts of the country, of Yoruba origin and foreigners across the world, and is marked with a parade to the palace of Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, by different cultural age groups known as regberegbe, in their attractive costumes, riding on horses.

Present at the event were the Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, the Chairman of Rite Foos Limited, Asiwaju Sulaiman Adebola Adegunwa, Former Governor of Ogun State, Gbenga Daniel, Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Noimot Salako-Oyedele, Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, represented by his deputy, Olayide Adelani, the Minister of Arts, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa Musawa, members of the National Assembly, Managing Director/CEO of Rite Foods Limited, Seleem Adegunwa, Diplomats, Traditional Leaders, among others. 

Speaking on the event, Adegunwa, stated that the sponsorship of the festival stems from the value the company places on the culture of the Ijebu people, preserving their traditional heritage which brings about unity, love, and harmony and strengthening the peaceful co-existence that is cherished among them for centuries.

He said it is also a testament that it has the interest of the Ijebu people at the core of its mission. 

The Company’s Head of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability, Ekuma Eze, affirmed that Rite Foods is passionate about the cultural preservation of the communities within its operations. He said Rite Foods powered the festival because it is a corporate citizen of Ijebu-land, and a proudly Nigerian company, “Whatever is the aspiration of this community is also ours, and we are here to bring it to life. It is an expression of our citizenship, and as every Ijebu citizen is excited to be present, that is how we are here too,” Ekuma averred.

Expressing his gratitude to the sponsors of Ojude Oba and the various cultural groups for their wonderful acts, Ogun State’s Governor, Dapo Abiodun, commended Rite Foods for the immense support of the annual event over the years and described the festival as a significant instrument for stimulating the local economy and enhancing tourism and global recognition.

Governor Abiodun further reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to promoting the cultural heritage of Ijebu-land and the unity between the various groups in the area.

Consequently, the Ondo State’s Deputy Governor, Olayide Adelani, praised the preservation of the culture which has boosted tourism and has helped in enhancing economic growth. Also, the Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts, Hannatu Musawa, said Ojude Oba holds an important place in the country’s cultural history and contributes to the nation’s tourism potential.

She said the country has a rich cultural diversity and that the Federal Government is working with the various regions to boost their distinctiveness.
