The management of Rosebud School, a group of schools located in the Idimu area of Lagos State, has expelled three students of the school after their father, Ayofe Kolawole physically attacked a teacher, Elizabeth Ogri and a cleaner, Agnes Paul, in a disturbing incident which went viral.
The assault, which took place on October 10, 2024, was caught on video and went viral, drawing public attention to the matter.
The school’s Public Relations Officer, Vivian Shonekan, confirmed the assault on the school’s staffs during an interview with PUNCH Metro on Monday.

Shonekan explained, “Although the parents later returned to apologise and seek resolution, the school firmly decided that the three children would not be readmitted.”
The incident, which occurred inside a classroom, unfolded when Kolawole stormed the premises, demanding to see his son. Paul, a mother of four, was cleaning the classroom at the time.
She recounted her traumatic ordeal, saying, “He began shouting, ‘Where’s my son?’ and before I could explain further, he started punching and hitting me. Since then, I’ve been in pain and still need further medical tests.”
A teacher, Elizabeth Ogri, who has worked at the school for four years, filmed the attack on Paul after becoming concerned that Kolawole might target her next, and while speaking to our correspondent, Ogri revealed that tensions had escalated a few days prior when one of Kolawole’s children claimed she had tried to ‘initiate’ him using kernel oil she had applied to treat a whitlow on her fingernail. Despite her efforts to explain, the parents demanded that she sign an undertaking to assure them that the oil was not fetish.
Efforts to reach Kolawole for comment proved unsuccessful. The commander of Area M Police Command, ACP Ajeigbe Olayinka, was unaware of the incident but, after reviewing the video, said, “The man should be charged in court for physical assault.”
Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, later confirmed via X.com that Kolawole had been arraigned, writing, “44-year-old Ayofe Kolawole was arraigned this morning (Tuesday).”
