Handover ceremony marks leadership change at Ogun State tech-hub in OWODE-YEWA, Ogun State –
The Technology Incubation Centre (TIC), Owode-Yewa, witnessed a smooth change of baton on Monday, May 11, 2026, as staff gathered for the official handover of duties following the redeployment of Assistant Centre Manager, Mr. Oguntayo Gabriel.
The ceremony, held at the Centre’s administrative block, was conducted in line with National Board for Technology Incubation (NBTI) protocols and civil service guidelines for staff deployment. It was convened to ensure zero disruption to ongoing programmes and to reinforce the Board’s mandate of driving technology-led entrepreneurship across the region.
In line with a structured handover for continuity,
Mr. Oguntayo Gabriel, who has been transferred to a new duty post following his recent promotion as Centre Manager of TECHNOLOGY INCUBATION CENTRE, ABEOKUTA, formally handed over responsibilities to the Centre’s most senior officer, Mrs. Olufunke Durosinmi-Etti.
During the session, Mr. Oguntayo briefed management and staff on the status of active incubatee projects, outstanding administrative files, and personnel matters under his supervision. The exchange culminated in the signing of official handover notes and the symbolic transfer of departmental assets, effectively placing the office of the Assistant Centre Manager under Mrs. Durosinmi-Etti’s charge.

“This process is about continuity,” a senior staff member noted, “We cannot afford gaps in support for the entrepreneurs we are incubating” as the business of growing our economy through SMEs is our top priority in the board and by extension, the TICs across the country.

With gratitude to God and his pledge to commitment to the vision and mission of the board under the leadership of the Director General/Chief Executive Officer Dr. Kazeem Kolawole Raji, FCIMP(Uk), FPMA(UK), in his farewell remarks, Mr. Oguntayo thanked the management and staff of TIC Owode-Yewa Extension for their cooperation during his tenure. He urged the team to sustain the Centre’s momentum and remain focused on the core mission of nurturing startups and small businesses through technology and mentorship.
“I leave with confidence that the foundation we have built will be strengthened,” he said. “Stay committed to the vision of making Owode-Yewa a hub for practical innovation.”
Responding, Mrs. Durosinmi-Etti expressed appreciation to the National Board for Technology Incubation, NBTI, for the trust placed in her. She pledged to uphold discipline, transparency, and accountability in administering the office, stressing that service delivery to incubatees would remain uninterrupted.
“My priority is to keep the Centre running efficiently and to ensure that every entrepreneur who walks through these doors gets the support they need to move from idea to market,” she stated.
Officials documented the event with signed handover notes and photographs capturing the signing and exchange of files. These materials will be filed for institutional memory and audit purposes.
The ceremony concluded peacefully, with staff expressing optimism about the transition and reaffirming their commitment to the Centre’s mandate.
The Technology Incubation Centre, Owode-Yewa, operates as an extension of TIC Abeokuta under NBTI, providing workspace, technical support, and business development services to early-stage innovators in Ogun State.
