In a well articulated presentation at the Lagos edition of GITEX NIGERIA 2025, Ina Alogwu, Chief Digital and Innovation Officer of T2 Mobile, outlined a transformative vision for telecommunications in Nigeria, emphasizing the urgent need for telcos to evolve or risk obsolescence.
“If the rate of change on the outside is greater than the rate of change on the inside, the end is near,” Alogwu quoted Jack Welch, highlighting the critical imperative for digital transformation.
Addressing industry disruption, Alogwu explained how traditional telco models are being challenged by emerging technologies like satellite networks and hyperscaler services. “Non-terrestrial networks can now achieve 100-500 megabytes per second, potentially replacing traditional infrastructure,” she noted.
T2 Mobile is pioneering what Alogwu calls the “wise pivot” strategy – transforming core network capabilities while simultaneously exploring adjacent digital opportunities. The company is actively seeking partnerships with startups across fintech, e-commerce, and media sectors.

“We have no intention of building everything from scratch,” Alogwu emphasized. “Instead, we’re adopting a partner-first approach, focusing on user experience and customer insights.”
The strategy involves not just external rebranding, but a comprehensive internal transformation covering people, processes, and technology to enhance organizational agility.
By embracing this digital-first approach, T2 Mobile aims to transition from a traditional telecom operator to a comprehensive digital lifestyle partner, positioning itself at the forefront of Nigeria’s technological evolution.
