The National body of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), has made known the divine intervention of the national body, after securing victory for justice and following the successful resolution of the protracted case involving Comrade Jamiu Owodunni Basola and the Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB).
Basola, was a graduate of Civil Engineering from the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), and was denied inclusion for the next batch of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) mobilization, after being accused of making use of fake admission requirements by JAMB.
In a statement signed by Comrade Adeyemi Samson Ajasa, National Public Relations Officer (PRO), NANS and made available to newsmen, stated that following NANS’s persistent advocacy, including an open letter to the Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and sustained pressure from the NANS Southwest Zone D, we are pleased to confirm that Comrade Jamiu Owodunni Basola’s JAMB portal has been reactivated, and his name has been duly added to the JAMB matriculation list.

Comrade Ajasa, further added that this positive development is a direct result of the decisive intervention by the NANS National leadership, led by the astute President, Comrade Olushola Oladoja.

“The President’s direct engagement with relevant authorities proved instrumental in bringing an end to the unjust predicament faced by Comrade Basola, whose academic dedication was regrettably challenged by a “fake admission” flag after five years of diligent study”,
“While acknowledging the initial concerns regarding the meeting at FUTA and the previous inaction from JAMB, this resolution underscores the power of collective action and NANS’s unwavering commitment to protecting the rights and dignity of Nigerian students. We appreciate the FUTA Civil Engineering Department for their initial step in writing to JAMB”,
“This victory is a clear message: the lives and academic pursuits of Nigerian students are not bargaining chips. NANS remains steadfast in its mandate to ensure that no student is unjustly treated or denied their legitimate rights. Jamiu’s fight was indeed our fight, and his victory is a triumph for every Nigerian student”, He added.
The Spokesperson of the Students body, also affirmed that the body will continue to monitor the full implementation of Comrade Basola’s demands, including his inclusion for the next NYSC mobilization batch.
