In a comprehensive interview on Gateway Unscripted, an online chit-chat programme hosted by Julius Oyedokun on Friday, Senator Solomon Adeola’s top media strategists provided an unprecedented look into his parliamentary achievements and communication strategy.
“Senator Solomon Adeola is not just a legislator; he’s a parliamentarian for excellence,” declared High Chief Kayode Odunaro, the senator’s Chief of Staff. “In the last three senates, he’s always among the top one to five among 109 senators.”
Odunaro revealed remarkable statistics: “As we speak, in the second year plus, he has already sponsored 15 bills.” He emphasized the senator’s unique approach, stating, “When people see Senator Adeola speaking on the floor of the parliament, they think it’s natural. No, it’s hard work, preparation, research, briefing, and discussion with people.”
The team highlighted significant accomplishments, including “upgrading Federal Polytechnic Ilaro to a federal university” and amending the accounting body of Nigeria’s act, which had remained unchanged since 1956.

“If you are working with Senator Solomon Adeola, you must be on your toes. Always,” Odunaro explained. “He wants to put in everything – whether it’s his campaign, his work on the floor of the parliament, either chamber.”
Omooba Damilare Oloyede, the SSA on New Media to Senator Adeola addressed the senator’s public image: “We have not less than 150,000 people in Ogun West ready to support him. It’s easy for somebody to sit down and create a faceless Facebook account to attack a politician, but the truth is different.”
Omooba Oloyede added, “When crisis happens, we sit down, analyze it. We know unscrupulous elements, gullible people being pushed, those playing petty politics.”
“He’s one of the most experienced legislators you can think of,” Odunaro noted. “Very few have that track record of serving from state assembly to the Senate.”
The Chief Odunaro challenged critics: “I want to challenge any other legislator. Bring your scorecard in terms of number of sponsorship and the content of the bills you’ve passed.”
Odunaro outlined the senator’s core responsibilities: “His major roles are three: lawmaking, oversight, and representation,” highlighting a holistic approach to parliamentary service.
“At 56, he’s a young man facing massive pressure,” Odunaro concluded, “but he’s involved in everything.”
The interview provides a rare, in-depth look at the inner workings of one of Nigeria’s most productive legislators, showcasing Senator Solomon Adeola’s commitment to effective governance, public service and his readiness to govern Ogun State by 2027.
