The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ijebu Ode has elected a new executive committee, with Hon. Husein Kehinde Ajetunmobi, the Otun Giwa of Egbe Obayori Akile Ijebu, emerging as the newly elected chairman. The election, held during the party’s congress, saw all delegates unanimously electing the new exco members.
In his acceptance speech, Hon. Ajetunmobi expressed deep gratitude to Hon. Ladi Adebutu and all local party leaders for their unwavering support and guidance throughout the process. He acknowledged their contributions to the strength and unity of the party at the grassroots level.
As the Otun Giwa of Egbe Obayori Akile Ijebu, Ajetunmobi promised to prioritize true reconciliation within the party, aiming to unite all factions and foster a spirit of collaboration. He affirmed that his main focus is to return the PDP to power, stating, “My leadership will be centered on ensuring that PDP reclaims its rightful place in governance, and we will work tirelessly to achieve that goal.”
The chairman of the election committee, Alhaji Kehinde Jaji, praised the process as free and fair, highlighting that it was closely monitored by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies, ensuring transparency and security throughout the event.
With the new leadership in place, PDP in Ijebu Ode is set to strengthen its efforts in preparation for future political contests.
