InterswitchSPAK 7.0: Calling All Young ScienceInnovators!

Are you a Secondary School 2 (SS2) student aged 14 to 17 years and passionate about Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM)? Or do you know any bright student(s)interested in STEM subjects and eager to showcase their brilliance to earn bragging rights as “Nigeria’s Best STEM Student”? If so, then we’ve got some exciting news for you!

Interswitch has officially opened entries for the 7th edition of InterswitchSPAK – the prestigious National Science Competition dedicated to empowering young African students through STEM education.

Besides being a competition, InterswitchSPAK serves as a platform of learning, innovation, and personal growth by identifying and rewarding remarkable secondary school students across Africa. The goal? To drive innovation and equip young, brilliant minds with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in STEM fields, ultimately contributing to Africa’s fourth revolution ambitions.

For audiences who have followed the competition from its first edition, it is notable how much it has evolved over the last seven years, with an ever-growing pool of participants across Nigeria, and with incremental and mouthwatering scholarship prizes that await top performers at the end of every season.

For the second time in the show’s history, the grand prize winner of InterswitchSPAK will go cart away a N15 million tertiary education scholarship (spread over five years), a laptop, monthly stipends, and bragging rights as the best STEM student in Nigeria. In addition, the second place winner will go home with a N10 million scholarship (spread over three years) and a laptop, while the third place winner will clinch a N5 million scholarship (for one year) and a laptop.

There are also amazing cash prizes for the 4th to 9th place winners, and teachers of the first 27 students, totaling well over N30 million worth of scholarships. Does this interest you already? We bet it does!

The InterswitchSPAK competition is designed to be both challenging and fun for participants.

Here’s how it works:

Schools register their top 20 Year 11 Science students for the competition.

Registered students undertake the pre-qualifying National Qualifying Examinations to test their knowledge about STEM and vie for a spot in the next stage.

The top-performing 81 students from the online examinations will then compete in an exciting, televised quiz show that will air for 13 weeks.

Registration is already open and closes on May 25, 2025. You don’t want to let this opportunity slip past you or those you know. Spread the word and get your school or that of your wardto explore http://www.interswitchspak.com and complete the registration process. It’s quick, easy, and could be the first step toward an incredible opportunity.

What are you waiting for? Gather your classmates, talk to your teachers, speak up at that next PTA meeting and get ready to show the world what you or your ward have got. The future is bright, SPAK it to life!
