Magboro-Makogi

Residents of the Magboro–Makogi community in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area have commended the Ogun State Government, led by Governor Dapo Abiodun, for the ongoing construction of the 8.17-kilometre Magboro–Makogi Road.

The project, which features concrete interlocking, is particularly significant given the area’s history of waterlogging.

During an inspection of the project by the Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Engr Ade Akinsanya, on Wednesday, residents expressed appreciation for the quality and standard of work being executed.

They described the initiative as a major infrastructural milestone that would enhance transportation, beautify the community, and boost socio-economic activities in the area.

Speaking on behalf of shop owners, Mr. Uche Okoro and Alhaji Wasiu Sanusi praised Governor Abiodun for his unwavering commitment to infrastructural renewal across Ogun State.

They noted that upon completion, the project would bring lasting relief to residents, business owners, and commuters who have long endured challenges posed by poor road conditions.

While commending the pace of work, the residents appealed to the contractor to expedite construction and ensure timely completion, especially as vehicular and pedestrian traffic continues to increase along the corridor.

Reaffirming their support for Governor Abiodun’s administration, the residents described the project as a testament to good governance and a demonstration of the government’s responsiveness to the needs of its citizens.

Addressing journalists after inspecting the project, Engr. Ade Akinsanya stated that he had directed the contractor to accelerate construction activities and take full advantage of the dry season to deliver the road within record time.

He reiterated the state government’s commitment to providing durable infrastructure that meets global standards.

“The government is determined to ensure this project is delivered promptly and to the highest quality. With the rains now subsiding, I have instructed the contractor to intensify efforts so residents can begin to enjoy the benefits of this new road as soon as possible,” Engr. Akinsanya said.

Also speaking, the Project Manager, Mr. Jason Zhang, confirmed that work is progressing steadily.

He commended the cooperation of both residents and the state government, assuring that the project would be completed according to specifications and delivered on schedule.
