The Gateway International Airport, which on Tuesday commenced commercial flights, has been hailed as one of the best-equipped airports in Africa. Aviation agencies have granted it unprecedented certifications, and its 4km runway and standard apron have positioned Ogun State as a rising force in Nigeria’s aviation sector A B.
Hon. Phillips emphasized the strategic importance of the airport to the state’s economy and its people. “This airport is not just a structure—it’s a gateway to prosperity,” he noted. “It connects Ogun to the rest of the country and the world, and it will attract investment, create jobs, and boost tourism.”
