A Yoruba apex group, the Yoruba Council Worldwide, has called the attention of the Inspector General of Police, IGP, Kayode Egbetokun, over the urgent need to arrest and prosecute Amaka Sonnberger, calling for the mass killing of the people of Yoruba and Edo in Nigeria.
Recall that in a viral video circulating online earlier this week, Sonnberger had called for the mass killing of the indigenous people of Yoruba and Edo in Nigeria.
In a letter signed by the President of the group, Aare Oladotun Hassan, Esq, titled, “Red Alert: Circulation of Video Inciting Ethnic Cleansing and Violence, call for Urgent Arrest and Prosecution of Mrs Amaka Patience Sonnberger, and Others” and sent to Police boss and the Head, Interpol Section of the Police Headquarters, Abuja.
According to him, the apex group had taken interest to call the attention of IGP Egbetokun over the video online threatening life of Nigerians and had declared violence for the mass killing of the indigenous people of Yoruba and Edo in Nigeria.

The letter reads, “Sir, as the foremost Yoruba indigenous apex interest group, representing the voice of Yoruba people in Nigeria and across the globe, we write to bring to your notice and as well inform your esteemed office, the viral life threatening video circulating online of a Nigerian woman residing in Canada, who had recently declared violence and call for the mass killing of our people; the Yoruba and Edo indigenous people of Nigeria.
“The said woman known as Mrs. Amaka Patience Sonnberger who apparently lives in Brampton Canada has been investigated and discovered to be a disability support worker in Brampton, Canada. Surprisingly, It is worrisome that someone who works with one of the most vulnerable demographic in the society can make such a terroristic comment as she may be a dangerous ambassador to the vulnerable people she works with being a Nigerian-Canadian, and most importantly can be a link to terrorist group here in Nigeria”.
He, added that Sonnberger needs to be investigated and prosecuted, together with her accomplices and that the matter has been taken to Nigerians in diaspora for proper monitoring.
“Hence, she and her co-accomplices on the TIKTok platform needs to be thoroughly investigated, checkmated and prosecuted for the benefit of the both countries.
“Furthermore, while we have been informed that this matter has been brought to the attention of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, by Nigerians living in Canada, we also want to lend our voice to the effort of ending such issues at its roots.
“In view of the above, we ask that this issue be properly investigated not just because of her and cohorts threat of poisoning Yoruba and Edo people, but to serve as a deterrents to other people who might have the same deadly motives like her”, He wrote.
