The state chairman of national rescue Mission (NRM) Hon Olujobi Fayoyin has rejected the results of yesterday by-election in Remo Federal Constituency of Ogun State.
Hon Fayoyin while speaking our corespondent in Abeokuta earlier today said that the election was a failed process of electing political office holder in that federal constituency, as the ruling party manipulated the results through underage voting, electoral malpractices, intimidation of electorates.
The NRM chairman also indicted the electoral umpire, for their role in helping the All Progressive Congress(APC) to rig the election.
He added that “It is very unfortunate that APC has turn every election process in this state to an opportunity to rig and put their own people in power. The last local government election was an eye sour, yesterday by-election was worst. Despite the low turnout due to intimidation of voters by the ruling party. The election result was still manipulated to their favor in many poling boots.
The by-election was characterized by violence and manipulation of results in many polling boots which made NRM to reject the result. “Hon Fayoyin called on well meaning Nigerians to protect our democracy by rejecting the shenanigans of APC and its cohort in Ogun State, as demonstrated by yesterday by-election in Remo federal constituency.
