The Nigeria Police Force and the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) have formed a joint committee to enhance cooperation and strengthen mutual understanding in the enforcement of laws across the country. A petrol tanker carrying 45,000 litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), also known as petrol, crashed and caught fire on Monday along the Iseyin/Oyo Road in Oyo State. The incident happened at NICO Farm, located in the Iseyin Local Government Area. The tanker, with the number plate Lagos LM62XP, reportedly lost control while in motion, somersaulted into a ditch, and caught fire. The Senate Committee in charge of reviewing the 1999 Constitution has announced it will hold public hearings across Nigeria’s six geo-political zones from July 4 to July 5. This announcement was made on Sunday by the committee chairman and Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin. Nigeria and the Republic of Benin have signed a new agreement to strengthen their partnership and show that real cooperation is possible in West Africa. The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced plans to evacuate its citizens who are currently stranded in Israel and Iran, following the rising conflict between the two countries. In a statement issued in Abuja, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, said the government is finalising emergency arrangements to bring Nigerians back home safely.
