Abeokuta, Ogun State – July 6, 2025
The Ogun State chapter of the National Association of Political Science Students (NAPSS) has officially endorsed Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, for the 2027 Ogun State governorship election.
At a press conference held at the Iwe Iroyin Press Centre in Abeokuta, the association’s President, Comrade Florence Badejo, declared the group’s unanimous support for the Senator representing Ogun West at the National Assembly. She cited his “track record of competence, compassion, consistency, and good governance” as the driving force behind their endorsement.
“Senator Adeola’s leadership style exemplifies the core principles of true democracy—principles we study in our lecture halls and hope to see reflected in our political system,” Badejo said.

She added that the association firmly believes Adeola’s vision and leadership capacity will catalyze progress and sustainable development across Ogun State and beyond.
“The pursuit of a more prosperous and equitable society requires visionary leadership, purposeful direction, discipline, and a commitment to continuity,” she said. “As scholars of political science and stakeholders in the future of our state, we are proud to throw our support behind a leader whose record speaks volumes.”
Badejo also praised Hon. Akeem Oluseye for his ongoing support to students, describing him as “a philanthropist, a builder of men, and a beacon of hope to students.”
According to her, both Adeola and Oluseye represent the caliber of leadership needed to reposition Ogun State among leading states in Nigeria.
The press conference was attended by other key members of the association, including Vice President Salawudeen Moruf, Public Relations Officer Comrade Pacheco Ayonide Temidayo, Comrade Paul Victor Offiong, and other members of the state chapter.
Senator Adeola, who has served in various legislative capacities at both state and national levels, is widely speculated to be gearing up for the 2027 governorship contest, although he has not made a formal declaration.
