The University of Lagos, UNILAG, has been left in darkness after the Eko Electricity Distribution Company, EKEDC, disconnected its power supply due to unpaid electricity bills. The disconnection occurred despite the university having made a payment of N180 million to EKEDC for the month of July. The Ogun State Government has released the names of additional non-statutory members appointed by Governor Dapo Abiodun to run four agencies of government. The Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, has announced September 14, as the final deadline for National Identity Number and Subscriber Identity Module, NIN-SIM linkage. Director of Public Affairs, NCC, Dr Reuben Muoka, who disclosed this in a statement in Abuja on Wednesday, described the move as a significant progress for the federal government’s 2020 policy to link all NIN-SIM in the country. Ogun State government has dispelled the fear of its residents on the alleged outbreak of any case of Monkey Pox disease, otherwise known as Mpox across the 20 local government areas in the state. 16 people were confirmed to have been burnt to death, while three injured in a fatal road accident, which occurred on the Ondo-Ore Expressway at Ajure community in Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State, on Tuesday night.
